| Outline of Hometown information | 備中地方（岡山県西部）一帯に伝承されている神楽。元来は荒神に奉納する神楽として神事中心の「荒神神楽」が行われ、神職のみが行っていた。江戸時代後期の神宮で国学者の西林国橋（こっきょう）が、記紀の神話をもとに、「天の岩戸開き」「国譲り」「大蛇退治」を加え、芸能的要素の強い「神代神楽（じんだいかぐら）」を創造し、人気を得て広く伝承されることとなった。 |
